    • Prof. Taeho Park

        Lucas College and Graduate School of Business, San Jose State University


    Dr. Taeho Park earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering at Seoul National University, and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering at University of Wisconsin – Madison. He has been a professor of operations and supply chain management at School of Global Innovation and Leadership, San Jose State University which is located in Silicon Valley and one of California State University’s campuses. He is currently director of the School of Global Innovation and Leadership and director of Silicon Valley Center for Operations and Technology Management. Dr. Park had numerous industrial experiences in supply chain management, logistics management, software development with many Korean companies, such as Samsung Electronics Co., LG Display Co., and DSE CARGONET. He provided more than 20 Korean universities, government offices, companies, and professional organizations with training programs in startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and programs for accessing the U.S. market through Silicon Valley. He has published research papers in many well-recognized journals in the areas of operations and supply chain management, quality management, logistics management, system design, modeling, and optimization. He is interested in the research areas of (1) supply chain management and its applications, (2) logistics network design and improvement, (3) technology and innovation management, (4) enterprise risk and sustainability management, (5) TQM applications including quality function deployment, (6) system design/modeling, and (7) decision analysis/optimization.

     

    • Prof. Chen-Fu Chien

        National Tsing Hua University, Hisnchu, Taiwan


    Dr. Chen-Fu Chien is Executive Vice President of National Tsing Hua University and Tsinghua Chair Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, NTHU, Taiwan. He is the President of Asia Pacific Industrial Engineering & Management Systems Society (APIEMS). He has been the Director of the Artificial Intelligence for Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (AIMS) Research Center, National Science and Technology Council, and the founding Director of AIMS Fellows Executive Master Program in NTHU. His research focuses on developing better analytical solutions via AI, big data analytics, decision modeling, and optimization algorithms for critical decision problems involved in strategy, manufacturing, and technology that are characterized by uncertainty and a need for tradeoff among various objectives to empower flexible decisions in real settings. From 2005 to 2008, he had been on-leave as a Deputy Director of the Industrial Engineering Division in TSMC. He is now Independent Director for Zhen-Ding Tech., Airoha Technology, and Uniflex Technology. Dr. Chien and his Decision Analysis Lab (DALab) Associates have conducted many university-industry collaborative research projects in various industries including semiconductor manufacturing. He has published more than 220 journal papers with more than 10129 citations (H index 50) and 11 case studies in Harvard Business School. Dr. Chien has published 6 books including bestselling books Industry 3.5 and Blue Lakes Strategy that received the most influential scientific publication award by NSTC and the Golden Book Awards by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Dr. Chien has received 22 invention patents and been listed as the world top 2% scientists continuously. Dr. Chien has received many awards including the National Innovation Award, the Executive Yuan Award for Outstanding Science & Technology (2016), the National Quality Award, and three Distinguished Research Awards from NSTC. He also received the 2011 Best Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, and the 2015 Best Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing.

    Kin’ya Tamaki received the Ph.D. from Waseda University, School of Science and Engineering, 1989.
